As colder weather arrives in Los Angeles, many of the city’s unsheltered residents struggle to keep warm. The Solid Resources Citywide Recycling Division (SRCRD) of LA Sanitation and Environment is inviting the community to donate new and gently used (washed and clean) blankets, sleeping bags and socks.

Through Friday, Dec. 31, donations of blankets and socks may be dropped off Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Public Works Building, 11495 S. Broadway. The site will be closed on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

Donations will be distributed at LASAN Mobile Hygiene Units, which provide showers and services for unhoused Angelenos. For more information, phone (213) 485-2260, or visit the City Facility Recycling Program at san.cfrp@lacity.org.
