Two shootings under investigation

A 39-year-old man, who was shot and killed last weekend in Compton has been identified.

Kenyata McIntosh was a Yorba Linda resident, coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz said.

The shooting was about 12:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Grape Avenue, between El Segundo Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The victim now identified as McIntosh was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

A detailed description of the male suspect, who fled the scene, was not available.

In Watts, a 36-year-old man was killed in a drive-by on June 16. The incident occurred at about 11 p.m. In front of 1346 e. 111th Pl., according to Officer D. Oris of the LAPD operations center.

Witnesses told police that someone had opened fire on the victim from a moving white pickup truck. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died en route to the hospital despite attempts by paramedics to save him.
