From rags to riches: once abandoned in dumpster, this Black man now owns a $62 million company

This story is so amazing, it could be a Disney movie. Freddie Figgers was found in a dumpster hours after he was born. Fortunately, he wasn’t injured and he was adopted by two parents. Today, he is 29 years old and the owned of a telecommunications company worth $62 million. Figgers is one smart young man. According to BlackNews.com, when he was 9 years old, he was given a computer that didn’t work. But Figgers figured out how to fix it. And not long after that, when he heard his dad had Alzheimer’s, he invented a shoe for him that a GPS tracker and two-way communications device. Eventually, that shoe design was sold for millions. By age 12, he was working as a computer technician, and by 15, he had already launched his own Cloud computer service. Within a short time, the teen became the youngest person to hold an FCC license and that’s when he launched his own cell phone company, Figgers Wireless. Figgers has launched other brands, such as his own credit and debit card line – FiggCash – that issues a premium luxury metal titanium card for all credit types issued through Visa and MasterCard. Figgers also owns Figgers Health, which has innovative healthcare products, and the Figgers Foundation, which gives annual scholarships, supports relief efforts for natural disasters, and other humanitarian deeds. Figgers has a simple philosophy on his foundation. “American consumers spend billions of dollars with large corporations that only provide a product or service, to suck the life out of you with their profits, but those companies don’t financially impact the average person in our communities.
