The city of Lancaster and the Lancaster Sheriff Boosters are pleased to announce the launch of the Ring Doorbell and Camera Rebate Program, unanimously approved by the Lancaster City Council at its Sept. 11 meeting. Public safety is priority number one to both the city of Lancaster and the Lancaster Sheriff Boosters, which coincides seamlessly with Ring’s mission to reduce crime.
Ring’s proven success is due to its extensive collection of home security products — which allow nearby residents to connect via the Neighbors App to submit and receive real-time crime and safety alerts from neighbors, law enforcement, and the Ring team.
“Public safety is paramount to myself and the Lancaster City Council, and we realize that community engagement is a vital part of any successful initiative,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “This program offers residents the opportunity to work alongside their neighbors and local public safety entities with the goal of thwarting home burglaries in Lancaster.”
This program has been subsidized by a generous $50,000 contribution from the Lancaster Sheriff Boosters in partnership with the city which has allocated $50,000 in City funds, as well as a $50,000 match from Ring.

Eligibility
Residents living within the designated boundaries of Avenue H to Avenue K and 20th Street West to 30th Street East will be the first eligible to receive a discount code as part of the rebate program beginning Thursday, October 18. The initial launch area was chosen based on Sheriff data regarding home burglaries in Lancaster.
Program Details
The City of Lancaster will offer a $50 per household subsidy; Ring will match the $50 subsidy for a total discount of $100. Residents interested in purchasing the Ring Video Doorbell 2 will receive an additional $50 subsidy, for a total discount of $150. Discount codes will be offered for 1,000 Lancaster households, limit one per household, on a first-come-first-served basis.

B. Up to three (3) additional products per household can be purchased at a lower price with the added discount of $30 off the retail price, in addition to receiving a 20% discount when accessories are purchased.
How to Purchase Products
On Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. those residing in the initial program area may obtain a Ring Doorbell by visiting the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC), located at 750 West Lancaster Boulevard. Attendees who provide a valid driver’s license or identification card displaying their address, along with a utility bill for the home they are purchasing the device for. All major credit cards will be accepted as payment, no cash or checks will be accepted.
Beginning Oct. 19 at 8 a.m., residents living in the designated program area, who were unable to attend the event, may register to purchase a Ring Doorbell by submitting their name and home address, where the device will be mailed, via email to lancaster@ring.com, and following the supplemental Ring instructions. Submissions must be received no later than Oct. 24 at 5 p.m.
The Ring Inc. Doorbell and Camera Rebate Program will launch citywide on Oct. 25 at 8 a.m., at which time the remainder of the original 1,000 available discount codes will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis to those who submit their information to lancaster@ring.com.
