Chris Lee Floyd, who spearheaded the “Breakfast of Champions” program in recognition of people who made contributions to the South Los Angeles community, died this week at age 74. Floyd also started “Computers for Families,” a program that provided low-income families with refurbished desktop computers and training in coordination with the Los Angeles Public Library. In lieu of flowers, the Floyd family suggests individuals make a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
