Suspect held in probe of domestic murder case

A man is being held for questioning in connection with the stabbing death of his wife in Lancaster.

The victim and suspect, who were married with two children, were arguing in the 4200 block of Jonathon Street prior to the stabbing, which occurred shortly before midnight July 1, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Information Bureau reported.

The man, identified as Rafael Barragan, was detained at the location and was being held pending an interview by sheriff’s homicide detectives.

Barragan has been jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.

Paramedics rushed Katrina Barragan, 37, to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
