INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Three people were critically wounded when gunfire erupted in an apartment courtyard, according to a county fire inspector.

Inspector Tony Akins said that a fourth patient, possibly a child, suffered minor injuries.

Lt. Oscar Serrano of the Inglewood Police Department had no description of the male suspect, nor could he say whether the individual was in custody or provide any information on the circumstances of the shooting.

Broadcast reports indicated that two men and a woman were wounded just before 1 p.m. at the apartment complex in the 11700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. The street was closed to traffic while police combed the area for evidence.
