The city of Palmdale is taking reservations for its bus excursion to the Ronald Reagan Foundation and Presidential Library to see the new exhibit, “Lincoln: From Railsplitter to Rushmore” on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The cost is $24 per person for Palmdale residents and $29 for non-residents. The bus will leave from the Palmdale Transportation Center at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m. Advance registration is required.
“This temporary exhibit explores the life of Abraham Lincoln, commemorates the Civil War and marks the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation,” said Palmdale Recreation Supervisor Paula Leszkiewicz. “This extraordinary and engaging presentation features more than 250 original artifacts, as well as sets from the Steven Spielberg-directed movie ‘Lincoln.’”
Participants may register in advance online at www.cityofpalmdale.org, in-person at Palmdale’s recreation and culture office located at 38260 10th St. East, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
