LANCASTER, Calif. — Authorities today announced a $10,000 reward for information that helps solve the killings of two men who were gunned down after leaving a house party in Lancaster.

It happened about 4:30 a.m. June 23 in the 44000 block of Hanstead Avenue, according to the sheriff’s department.

Nicky Packard and Michael Sewell Jr. were among a group of men who had just left the party and were gathered in front of a nearby house when a argument escalated into a fight and someone shot them, authorities said. The men died at the scene.

No description was released of the gunman.

The reward was offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors “for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of those responsible” for the killings, according to Supervisor Michael Antonovich’s office.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective Tim O’Quinn or Brian Schoonmaker at (323) 890-5500.
