The annual, international broadcast, Global Leadership Summit (GLS) will be held on Aug. 8-9 this year. Churches around the world will host this simulcast, which features notable speakers from a wide variety of disciplines. Geared toward raising a multitude of new local leaders in communities throughout the globe, GLS strives to instill in every person, at every station of life, the confidence in their own ability to lead where they are.

“As an individual in public office, I know the value and necessity of having leaders in every sector of the community,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “It has been my experience that any system, in order to function, must have effective, capable, diligent leaders at its head. This includes organizations, communities, families, and any other efforts seeking success and renewal. I am gratified to know that one of our community churches, the Desert Vineyard, is a host site for this event for the second year in a row. This summit will surely foster greater understanding and application of leadership skills in our community.”

With a number of engaging speakers from a variety of positions and circumstances, a broad spectrum of strategy and encouragement for potential leaders will be covered. In-depth and insightful perspectives regarding leadership and engagement will be presented from political figures such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, faith leaders such as Willow Creek Pastor Bill Hybels and Nairobi Chapel Senior Pastor Oscar Muriu of Kenya as well as business and management figures like best-selling author Liz Wiseman and Mark Burnett, co-producer of the hit television movie “The Bible.”

Desert Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church is located at 1011 East Ave I. The summit will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. The cost is $109 for church members, and $249 for individuals. Group rates and student discounts are also available.
