Officials from Charles D. Drew University of Medicine and Science, the Vermont Village Community Development Corp., Heritage Education Group and Crenshaw Christian Center watch as the ribbon is cut for the grand opening of a weekly full-service farmer’s market on the grounds of Crenshaw Christian Center at 7901 South Vermont Ave. The ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Friday included free food for the first 200 shoppers, flu shots by Walgreens, diabetes screenings and HIV testing.
