“Magic Mike” is one of the most anticipated films of the summer, and for good reason. It’s fun, unexpected and it gives women a chance to judge men like men judge women. Know what I mean?
It’s the story of a young man with big dreams trapped in a world of sex, drugs and, oh yes, male stripping. The money is good, the women easy, and Mike’s (Channing Tatum) dance moves are nothing short of magic.

Channing Tatum (“21 Jump Street,” “The Vow”) stars as Magic Mike, the lead dancer in an all-male review. This film gives you a glimpse into the world of male stripping, an experience Channing knows about firsthand. He says he worked as a stripper for eight months when he was 18 and 19 years old. He says, “I’ve always thought about doing a story about that life, because whenever the subject comes up, guys always want to know about it. How’d you get into it? What was it like? How much money did you make?”

Although some of Hollywood’s hottest men shared the stage, you couldn’t help but wonder where the brothers were. Not even one, not a waiter, film extra, nothing, not one brother, but I digress.  Magic Mike is joined on stage by Alex Pettyfer (“I Am Number Four”), Matt Bomer (USA’s “White Collar”), Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) Kevin Nash (“The Longest Yard”) and Adam Rodriguez (“CSI: Miami”). And Matthew McConaughey (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) stars as the owner of the hot spot Club Xquisite where the men bare it all. The film is R-rated, but don’t expect to see a lot of nudity on screen.

Mike befriends a young man he calls The Kid (Pettyfer) and takes him under his wing. The problem is The Kid is unpredictable, and shakes up Mike’s world. But Mike discovers two important things in the process–love and moving on.
