TORRANCE, Calif.–A 16-year-old Bishop Montgomery High School sophomore was arrested for allegedly making “criminal threats” against the school on YouTube, police said today.

The school was closed today because of concerns about the threat, but will open tomorrow, according to Torrance police Sgt. Steve Jenkinson. Police withheld the name of the boy, who was taken into custody Sunday, Jenkinson said.

On Saturday, police and school administrators received calls regarding a post on YouTube, which indicated that “something very bad was going to happen at the school on Monday,” Jenkinson said.

Officials then decided that the Catholic high school at 5430 Torrance Blvd. would be closed today, Jenkinson said. Police this morning inspected the campus, but found nothing to indicate a threat, Jenkinson said.
