The Black Business Association recently held its 2010 Salute to Black Women Business Conference and Awards Luncheon at the Omni Hotel. The theme was “Writing Women Back into History” and the purpose was to honor women who have been at the forefront of the fight for civil rights and have advanced the community towards better opportunities in education and business. Congresswoman Maxine Waters was the Honorary Chairperson and South African Consul General Jeanette T. Ndhlovu was the Honorary Co-Chairperson.
The honorees (pictured above) were: community activist Lillian Mobley, CA Assembly Speaker Emeritus Karen Bass, President and CEO of Community Financial Resource Center Forsecee Hogan-Rowles, President of the Magic Johnson Foundation Towalame Austin, CEO of YWCA of Greater Los Angeles Faye Washington and, President of Four Seasons Productions Genell Brown.
