What a time to be a delegate!

I am especially thankful to my friend, Senator Art Torres, and his staff for the professional and careful attention paid to the California Delegation. We were treated as if we were Political Royalty!
On Thursday evening, Barack Obama walked out on stage, with the American flags waving as if to push him towards 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue…my heart grew full of pride and eyes full of tears. Today, I can truly tell my young son and daughter that they too can grow up to be anything they want to be, up to and including the President of the United States of America!
I know that God placed me there, not only as a reminder of my past; but as an instrument of hope, an instrument of possibility…for my children and children like mine. I am honored and blessed to stand at this place in history!
