Gang injunction feedback

Los Angeles City Councilmember Richard Alarcón introduced a motion, Friday, to ensure that that Neighborhood Councils and other community members have the opportunity to learn about proposed gang injunctions, including the scope and boundaries of the injunction, and be given an opportunity to provide feedback.
“Gang injunctions are an important tool for the Los Angeles Police Department, but in order to be truly successful, the community must understand why the injunction is structured the way it is and have the chance to provide feedback on the proposal,” said Councilmember Alarcón. “No one knows our communities better than the local residents and families, and it is crucial that the Neighborhood Councils and other community members are involved in the process early, so we can create even stronger gang injunctions and, ultimately, ensure that the community understands and supports the proposal.”
