Salute to women’s history on March 23

Women’s History Month Coasters: Course is taking place on March 23 at the Compton Library, 240 W. Compton Blvd., from 11 a.m. to noon. This event involves the education of prolific women in history while offering the opportunity to decorate coasters. Course is designed for attendees 18 and over. Attendance is limited and pre-registration is recommended for those wishing to attend. 

Smarty Pants Storytime: This event, designed for children ages 2 to 5 years, also takes place on March 23 from noon to 1 p.m. Books, songs, rhymes and movement will abound. Attendance is limited and pre-registration is required for those wishing to attend. Masks and physical distancing are highly encouraged. 

Basic Computer Skills: March 26 from noon to 1 p.m. Computer Skills classes are held every Tuesday where participants can enhance a specialized computer skill. This event is designed for attendees 18 and over. Attendance is limited and pre-registration is recommended for those wishing to attend. 

PBS SoCal Family Math Night: Design A Stamp: March 27 4pm to 5pm. It includes a review and practice of math, geometry and literary skills shape recognition, location and positions words and patterns– all while designing your own stamps. This event is designed for caregivers and children ages 2-8. Attendance is limited and pre-registration is required for those wishing to attend. 

Art Afternoon for Teens takes place from 4 to 5 p.m. March 28. This event will be a creative experience for teens, with paint, sculpture, canvas, macrame, just pick an art type and get started. It is designed for teens aged 13 to 17 years.
