If you’re looking for a positive way to immerse yourself in the community, the Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., has you covered. The library, in partnership with Friends of the Library, will host a Fill-A-Bag Book Sale on March 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Customers can purchase a $2, $4, or $8 bag and fill it up with as many books as they can fit into the bag. Booksale items for purchase include: fiction, non-fiction books, hardback books, paperback books, children’s books, DVDs, CDs and audio books.
In addition to the book sale, the Friends of the Library are looking for volunteers to join their organization. The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers. Proceeds from the book sale will go towards various library programs.
Volunteers are needed to work the book sales that occur 3-4 times a year, stock the bookshelves, sort book donations, someone who is skilled with computers, updating the website, a secretary to take minutes and a treasurer.
