Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center

MLK Community Healthcare’s (MLKCH) state-of-the-art Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center has been recognized as a “Center of Excellence” from Restorix Health this month, the only such facility in California to achieve this recognition.

The designation is the highest awarded by Restorix, a leading wound care management company with more than 280 wound care centers nationwide.

MLKCH’s wound center is the only facility of its kind in California to be designated a “Center of Excellence” and is one of just 29 nationwide to receive the distinction.

“This designation demonstrates MLKCH’s commitment to the highest quality of patient care, optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction,” said Dr. Elaine Batchlor, CEO of MLK Community Healthcare.  “MLKCH is living its vision of providing care equal to, if not better, than health systems in more affluent communities.”

MLKCH exceeded benchmarks on nine important criteria of wound care excellence, including patient satisfaction, days to heal and level of healing achieved.

The MLKCH wound center is distinguished by its state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers, a pressurized medical treatment that exposes injured tissues to high concentrations of oxygen to enhance healing.  This advanced therapy has been shown to significantly contribute to the healing of hard-to-heal wounds.
