Book enthusiasts are invited to the special virtual event of the 15th anniversary of the Leimert Park Village Book Fair (LPVPF) this Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the heels of National Book Month, LPVBF is hosted by Jasmine Sanders, co-host of the nationally syndicated “D.L. Hughley Radio Show,” and will also feature headliners like Nikole Hannah Jones, Tabitha Brown, and book fair ambassador Jenifer Lewis. The host will also pay tribute to actor Sidney Poitier.

Nikole Hannah-Jones is the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1619 Project and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine. She has spent her career investigating racial inequality and injustice. Her reporting has earned her the MacArthur Fellowship, the Genius grant, a Peabody Award, two George Polk Awards, and the National Magazine Award.

Tabitha Brown is a social media sensation known as the vegan auntie and has coined the saying, “Because that’s your business,” as she uses that line during many of her cooking videos. Millions of fans tune in weekly for her live cooking shows on Facebook, quick recipes on Tik Tok, funny stories, and inspirational posts on all of her social media platforms. Brown is a New York best-time seller for her recipe book “Cooking for the Spirit,” now available everywhere.

Jenifer Lewis will be honored as the book fair ambassador for her work in promoting literacy to the youth.

“We are so excited we have the dynamic Jenifer Lewis as this year’s celebrity book fair ambassador,” said Cynthia E. Exum, founder and executive producer of the LPVBF. “She’s a tour de force, and we love the energy she brings in promoting literacy and encouraging our audience to stay socially conscious.”
