It is not often musical legends see their career spanning more than 10 years and still have relevance in the hip-hop industry. It’s more unlikely they can sustain musical success over 30 years, but that is what artist Krayzie Bones has done with the release of his newest project “Krayzie Melodies” Volume One, which is currently charting on Apple Music.

Some may not know who Krayzie Bones is as an entity, but you know the famous musical group he was and is still a part of, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony.

Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony was established in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1993 with their debut EP, “Creepin on ah Come Up,” under Eazy E’s Ruthless Records. The group enjoyed a 10-year run together that garnered multiple Grammy awards and Billboard charting hits through the years. While the group was a big success, Bones took the opportunity to try a solo career with the release of his debut album, “Thug Mentality 1999.”

Another part of Bones’ success is what he does outside his music career.  Krayzie Bone has created his clothing line called The Life Apparel, which has been in business for 15 years. He also has his foundation called Spread the Love foundation.

“I always wanted to start a non-profit to help my community and since 2019 I have been able to.” Bones said, noting that he is in the process of purchasing his old elementary school and rebuilding it in Cleveland.

Bones also has his podcast called “Truth Talks,” where he speaks to his viewers about God and how different perspectives give different results.

“We take situations and look at them from two different standpoints, one from a God/ biblical standpoint, and then we look at it from a human standpoint with topics like abortions or politics.”

Bones is also a co-headliner for a Ukrainian Refugee Fundraiser Concert. He will be joined by R&B singer and legend Dionne Warwick.

“It’s a wonderful thing to be able to share the stage with such a diva, legend, and icon. She is family and I am looking forward to performing with her and sharing this great experience, while also being able to spread love during a time of war,” he said.

The concert is billed as LOVE IS WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW.  Prior to the show there will be a VIP meet and greet from 3 to 5 p.m., before the show at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.17,  at the Commerce Casino & Hotel in the City of Commerce.
