A celebration, in honor of retired Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby, who officially retired on July 30, has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.16, at Los Angeles County Fire Department Headquarters, Cecil R. Gehr Training Center, 1320 North Eastern Ave.

At this event, Osby will ceremoniously hang his turnout coat and helmet on the Wall of Honor to symbolize the successful culmination of his 38-year firefighting career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department; 11 of those years spent as the department’s first African-American fire chief.

Surrounded by family, friends, and peers, Osby will be celebrated and honored for his extraordinary leadership, strategic vision, and steadfast commitment to the Department and the communities served.
