At press time, both the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale were reporting that the California State Fire Marshall found the vendor for the annual “4th of July Extravaganza,” Exposhows, Inc., to be engaged in alleged, undisclosed illegal activity, potentially forcing the cancellation of this year’s event.

Officials in both cities are awaiting additional details on this active investigation, along with several other entities also affected by this news including La Puente and Lynwood.

“As a community that respects and values law and order, we are saddened by this revelation and await more information to emerge,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Despite the news, we are not giving up. We are currently scouring for available vendors and trying to find a way for our community to enjoy a 4th of July Extravaganza together. We honor the tradition of gathering in celebration of Independence Day during an official city event.”

The California State Fire Marshall raided the ExpoShows warehouse, located in Mojave, on Saturday, June 25. The City of Lancaster will share information related to this case as details become available over the weekend.
