The City of Lancaster, in partnership with Lucky Luke Brewing, is hosting its second annual Tour de Luke Charity Bike Ride on Saturday, July 16 to raise money for local bicycle nonprofit Resurrection Cycles as well as active transportation and healthy living programming.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the 4.2-mile community bike ride will start and end at Lucky Luke Brewpub in Lancaster, where cyclists will enjoy complimentary beer, event swag, raffles, and more.
“We are so excited to host the second annual Tour de Luke community bike ride for a great cause,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “We recognize the significance of safe alternative transportation and ensuring everyone can get to work or school. What better way to support a great cause than to bike around Lancaster with friends and end with a locally crafted beer?”
Register now to join hundreds of other community members biking through Lancaster and Palmdale. General Registration starts at $30 and includes entry for the bike ride, one free beer after the event (for riders 21+), and 20 percent off at both Lucky Luke Brewing locations the day of the ride. You can also register as a VIP and receive a limited-edition event t-shirt and water bottle. Or, just register for free and ride along.
Local businesses or nonprofit organizations can also partner with the Tour de Luke team to support the cause while gaining community exposure. Sponsorship spots are limited and start at $1,500. Visit CityofLancasterCA.org/Ride for more information.
In 2021, the Tour de Luke Charity Bike Ride hosted more than 220 cyclists and raised $5,000 for Resurrection Cycles and safe alternative transportation in Lancaster. Resurrection Cycles offers low-cost bicycles and bicycle repair to those in need. For nearly three years, this nonprofit has provided affordable and reliable transportation to community members who require their bikes for their commute.
Lancaster’s national award-winning campaign “See And Be Seen” is actively working to reach zero traffic-related deaths through a K-12 active transportation safety and healthy living education program, a safety signal cabinet wrap campaign, community bike rides, and more. See And Be Seen also hosts free bike repair clinics to ensure students can safely ride through Lancaster.
