With more than 170,000 residents in the City of Lancaster, the city takes the responsibility of protecting residents and ensuring that every individual and family would be ready to respond to and recover from a natural or man-made emergency or disaster.

Some of the disasters that Lancaster is prone to include earthquakes, fires, flash floods, snow storms, droughts, electrical outages and high winds.

Because of the many threats that Lancaster faces, it is important that the City and residents are prepared for such disasters. However, preparing for these disasters needs to be done in advance.

When someone’s life may fall victim to a fire or a crime in progress, call 9-1-1. Additionally, to find an answer to an emergency preparedness question, call the Lancaster Public Safety Office at (611) 723-6063 or visit PublicSafety@CityofLancasterCA.org.
