New mobile clinic in South LA

Center of Hope LA (Inglewood) has announced the opening of a free or low-cost mobile medical clinic in South Los Angeles at Center of Hope’s east location 7516 Central Ave. A grand opening is set for 10 a.m. today.

Center of Hope LA; Center of Hope Community Development Corporation (CDC); and Lestonnac Free Clinic have collaborated to help meet the medical needs of uninsured residents of the South Los Angeles Community. Free medical services are available on the first Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Center of Hope Community CDC seeks to promote community sustainability, self-sufficiency, and legacy by enhancing access to health, housing, employment, education, and faith. Lestonnac Free Clinic provides free health care services to low-income and uninsured residents in Southern California. Through generous volunteers and donors, this collaboration proves to be a true asset to the population it seeks to serve.

“I’m so grateful for the privilege of joining the incredible work in process by the countless number of churches and advocacy groups serving South Los Angeles,” said Geremy L. Dixon, lead pastor of Center of Hope LA. “Our mission has been to find ways to increase the quality of life for all those we have access to. This new partnership between Center of Hope and Lestonnac Free Clinic enables us to meet the health needs of individuals who don’t currently have health insurance benefits. It is an honor to be involved in such important work. I know that the love of God will touch the hearts of all those who experience the delivery of these vital services.”

“Lestonnac is honored to be working with Center of Hope to expand the health care safety net and offer free health care to South LA,” said Edward Berger, executive director of Lestonnac Free Clinic. “Lestonnac Free Clinic partnered with the Center of Hope LA (Inglewood, CA) to begin providing free medical services once a month, with plans to offer free vision and dental services as well.”
