Virtual event features speakers, booths and panels
The Black Business Expo plans to continue to help the Black business community grow worldwide through its virtual event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 20. Hundreds of our community’s most influential business leaders will join the Expo online, including Dr. George C. Fraser, founder of the largest African-American Networking Conference for people of African descent, and Dr. Dennis Kimbro, best Selling Author & Speaker, ”Think and Grow Rich – A Black Choice.” Additional headliners include Byron Nelson, self-made millionaire, Dr. Adrianne M. Toney, Transition Expert, Author and Philanthropist, and Treasure Owens, CEO, consultant, speaker, and author.
Founded by event producer and entrepreneur Barbara Lindsey, The Los Angeles Black Business Expo and Conference bills itself as the premier event for networking and Black business empowerment.
“In the face of COVID-19 and its devastating impact on communities of color, now more than ever, it is imperative to continue our mission of promoting and empowering Black-owned businesses in the Greater Los Angeles region and beyond,” Lindsey said.
According to Lindsey, the vision for the event basically remains the same today: To support Black-owned Businesses to fuel the Black economy, locally, regionally, and nationally.
According to Nielsen research, Black consumers speak directly to brands in unprecedented ways as they achieve headline-making results. And with Black purchasing power being an astounding $1.4 trillion in 2019, it appears that Black Americans are a force to be reckoned with.
Throughout the day, business leaders will talk about strategies on creating generation wealth. One of the panels includes Michael Lawson, president of Los Angeles Urban League; Angela Gibson-Shaw, president, Greater LA African American Chamber of Commerce; Colette Moore, director of the Small Business Center at Pacific Coast Regional Center; and Dexter McLeod, president of South Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. They will discuss the importance of relationships with community-based organizations.
