To support health and wellness in South Los Angeles, PVJOBS has partnered with the County of Los Angeles Public Health and the Ninth District Office of Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to community residents. The free vaccination event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the PVJOBS headquarters, 4112 S. Main St. in South Los Angeles.

The vaccine will be given to any individual who is age 12 or older and is currently eligible. Individuals between the ages of 12-17 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated. Insurance is not required since the vaccination is free to everyone, regardless of immigration status.

“We’re offering free vaccinations in our community because the health and well-being of our neighbors in South Los Angeles is important to us,” said PVJOBS Executive Director Mary Taylor, who added that this event will serve as the organization’s second vaccination effort. “As a nonprofit that provides job opportunities to at-risk individuals, we’re always equipping our participants with resources that will increase their employment success. Helping at-risk individuals get vaccinated is yet another way of preparing them for the workforce.”

As part of the event, PVJOBS will host booths to hand out community information about local assistance programs. An In-N-Out Burger food truck also will be stationed on site to encourage community participation.

PVJOBS collaborated with the Los Angeles Black Probation Officers Association to organize the vaccination event. Other event partners include the County of Los Angeles Probation Department, Learn4Life Alta Vista Charter School, and Resilient.

To receive a vaccination, all individuals must present a form of ID, such as a driver’s license, California ID card, passport or birth certificate. If no form of ID can be shown, a self-attestation form will be available for signature. For a full list of documents, visit publichealth.lacounty.gov.
