As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro has installed cameras at the at-grade train crossings along Crenshaw Boulevard between 59th and 48th St. and will activate its Photos Enforcement Program on Friday, Oct. 1. The enforcement program is aimed at mitigating potential train versus vehicle collisions and improving vehicular and pedestrian safety along Crenshaw during train testing and when the new Metro rail line begins operations.
Motorists who violate the left-hand turn traffic signal during the first 30 days of enforcement (warning period) will receive a warning letter from the Los Angeles Sheriff Department notifying them that their vehicle was captured violating the red-light at a rail crossing.
After the warning period ends on Nov. 1, motorists who disobey traffic signals and operate vehicles in an illegal manner will begin receiving traffic citations in the mail for violations at the intersections listed below. Citations on the Metro program average $100 plus penalties and assessments.
Metro is dedicated to reducing the number of accidents, injuries, and fatalities associated with red-light violations at all streets and highway rail-grade crossings. Motorist safety and the safety of the riding public is of utmost importance.

Metro has implemented its photo enforcement program on the A Line (Blue), L Line (Gold), G Line (Orange), and E Line (Expo).
