In 2015, director CJ Hunt began filming the New Orleans City Council’s vote to remove four Confederate monuments. But when that removal was halted by death threats, Hunt set out to understand why a losing army from 1865 still holds so much power in America. The result is “The Neutral Ground.”

It’s theatrical premiere will be held at Laemmle Glendale Theatres with an in-person Q & A with Hunt, who is a producer on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.” Shows are set at 7:30 p.m. July 2 and at 5:20 and 7:30 p.m. on July 3.

The movie will have its world broadcast premiere on PBS’ “P.O.V” on July 5 and will begin streaming on PBS.org on that date.
