The City of Carson and the Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation will be presenting entertainment and activities for the entire family at its Juneteenth Rhythm and Blues Virtual Celebration, which will feature DW 3 and Greg Rose at 5:30 p.m. June 19 at http://carsonca.gov/Juneteenth; Cable Channel 35 (Spectrum); and Cable Channel 99 (ATT).

DW3 has had the pleasure of performing on the Warren Hill, Wayman Tisdale and Dave Koz Jazz Cruises. They also performed on shows like City of Lights Jazz Fest, Newport Jazz Festival, Long Beach Jazz Fest, BB Kings, Vault 30 and the Annual Taste of Soul Festival in Los Angeles.

Rose and the band play a pivotal role performing in the arena of R&B.  Even though Rose created his own personal style of music, many in the industry have compared his sound to the late Teddy Pendergrass, Isaac Hayes, and Luther Vandross. Other performers for the virtual event include African Study Group, Jennifer Rocket and many more.

Juneteenth marks the date in history when African-American slaves in Texas first received word that all slaves were free.  The news came to Texas in June 1865, two and a half years after Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
