Denise Pines honored by business group

A longtime community health advocate and media pioneer, Denise Pines, will be honored by the National Association of Women Business Owners at NAWBO LA’s “Women on the Rise” virtual conference beginning at 9 a.m. on June 25.

The 34th annual conference will include awards, breakout sessions, an interactive expo hall, networking opportunities, and a keynote speaker. Register at NABOLA.org/events.

Pines is a trusted resource for women as they pursue midlife wellness. She’s the founder of Tea Botanics and the inspiration of Hot Flash Tea. Founder of WisePause, a pro-aging health and education platform (https://wisepause.com) and The FemAging Project https://www.femaging.com, providing research and reports to the health tech industry addressing innovation for women ages 40+.

Pines co-founded Women in the Room, an award-winning film production company, producing 11 documentaries including the award-winning film “PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools.” Her next documentary, “Anthony Fauci” will air on PBS Spring 2022.

Pines has served on the board of directors for the Federation of State Medical Boards, Osteopath Medical Board of California and is the immediate past president of the Medical Board of California. She is currently on the Martin Luther King Community Hospital Foundation board. Pines is a graduate of San Francisco State University (BS), John F. Kenney University (MBA), and Stanford University (MBA).
