The Greater African American Chamber of Commerce has created “The Valley Economic Alliance” to offer free business technical assistance and support to businesses facing financial hardships in Los Angeles County.

The alliance has been set up to share valuable information to help entrepreneurs weather the economic downturn, while planting seeds for business to grow as the economy recovers.

Eligibility requirements include a valid business tax and registration certificate.

Program organizers want to reach Black businesses before they make the tough decision to layoff workers, cut hours or ultimately move out of Los Angeles County.

Businesses within the cities of Burbank, Calabasas, Glendale, San Fernando and the San Fernando region of the City of Los Angeles will be considered priority project areas.

A special emphasis is being put on the following neighborhoods: Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Encino, Lake Balboa, Mission Hills, North Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch, Reseda, Sepulveda Basin, Tarzana, portions of Van Nuys, West Hills, Winnetka and Woodland Hills.

Interested businesses are being asked to enroll by Wednesday, March 31. For more information about The Valley Economic Alliance visit: TheValley.net
