Man found dead following possible hit-and-run in Lancaster

A man who may have been killed in a hit-and-run was found dead in Lancaster, authorities said Monday.

Deputies went to the 2300 block of West Avenue M at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

“Palmdale Station received the call of a possible hit-and-run,” according to a sheriff’s department statement. “When deputies arrived, they discovered a man suffering from trauma to his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the man, who appeared to have been in his 40s. An autopsy was pending.
