The Orange County average price rose for the eighth consecutive day and 12th time in the past 13 days, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.206, its highest amount since March 23. The Orange County average price is 3.8 cents more than one week ago and 7.6 cents higher than a month ago, but 34 cents less than one year ago.

The rising pump prices are caused by the increase in wholesale prices stemming from “increased investor activity,” according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
