Among the many events being shut down, postponed and affected by the pandemic called the Coronavirus is the annual Black Writers Conference, reports the Amsterdam News.

The Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CBL), and presenting partner Akila Workshops, announced this week that the 15th National Black Writers Conference (NBWC2020) has been postponed based on concerns regarding the Coronavirus. It was schedule for this month (March 26-March 29.

“Everyone at the Center for Black Literature is genuinely concerned about the health and safety of those who have registered or who intend to participate in our national conference,” said CBL Founder and Executive Director Dr. Brenda M. Greene. Greene affirms that the 15th National Black Writers Conference will be postponed until a later date this calendar year and is not canceled.
