The Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., is celebrating National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) by hosing a weekly write-in each Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.

NaNoWriMo is an opportunity for writers worldwide to try to get to 50,000 words written in one month. The Palmdale City Library will provide a quiet space to write and handouts with writing tips and tricks. Teenagers and adults are welcome to participate in the write in. This event is free, and no registration is required.

“It’s hard to make time in our busy schedules to write, and NaNoWriMo is a wonderful way to get motivated to start and finish that great idea you have kicking around in your brain,” said Jacqueline Seekamp, library associate.

The Palmdale City Library is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

For more information, call the Palmdale City Library at (661) 267-5600, TDD 267-5167, or visit www.cityofpalmdale.org/library.
