The California Highway Patrol and sheriff’s investigators asked for the public’s help this week to help find an 81-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease last seen in Lancaster on Aug. 7, then again in Northern California a day after he went missing locally.
John Alan Baker was seen at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 leaving the 7300 block of Sandpiper Drive in a 2017 Lincoln MKZ with the California license plate 7YFD932, according to the sheriff’s department.
Baker was then seen Aug. 8 in Piercy in Mendocino County about 200 miles north of San Francisco, the CHP said in a Silver Alert issued Aug. 9 for Los Angeles County and four Northern California counties—Humbolt, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma.
Baker is White, 6’3” inches tall, 190 pounds with blue eyes, gray hair and is missing a front tooth.
He was wearing a button-up shirt and jeans when he was last seen.
Also this week, the Sheriff’s Department’s Missing Persons Unit sought the public’s help in locating Leonard Edward Allard, an 84-year-old White male, who was last seen at 3 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 8500 block of West Avenue D in Lancaster.
Allard is described as 6 feet tall, 165 pounds with brown eyes and grey hair. He was last seen driving a 2007 cream colored Ford Edge, license plate CA/26155DP.
Allard reportedly suffers from dementia and requires an oxygen tank.
