EEOC: Presidents ‘go back’ remarks might be illegal

President Donald Trump and several female members of the House have been sparring verbally to the point the leader has brought out more hate at recent political rallies. He even went so far as to suggest the four, known as the Squad, “go back” to countries “from which they came,” even though three of the four were born in the U.S. and the fourth has been here since 1995. But according to the EEOC, in America’s workplaces and institutions, that same rhetoric would be illegal.

The commission, which enforces federal laws against workplace bias, says such language is “potentially unlawful conduct.” According to the Associated Press, similar phrases routinely show up in lawsuits that the EEOC files against employers, alleging discrimination, harassment or retaliation based on race or national origin.
