A man was hospitalized in unknown condition earlier this week with injuries he suffered in an officer-involved shooting in the Broadway-Manchester area of South Los Angeles.

Officers were conducting a traffic stop in an alley west of Broadway between 108th and 109th streets about 11 p.m. Monday when the suspect stopped, got out of his car armed with a gun and an officer-involved shooting occurred, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect ran from officers and was later taken into custody near Broadway and 109th Street, police said.

The suspect suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the LAPD said.

No officers were injured and a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
