May is shaping up to be a busy month at The Main,  24266 Main St., in Old Town Newhall.  Tickets are now on sale for a variety of music, theater, and comedy shows taking place. Adult beverages will also be available for purchase at select shows, in addition to concession.

This month, The Main will be home to Cavort Theater and its production of “The Universe (101).” A Quantum Clown and a Victorian Psychic endanger the fabric reality and explain the cosmos in simple Lemon’s terms. This hilarious Hollywood fringe show combines magic, mentalism, and lemons in an attempt to put the universe back in order. This original show was chosen for the 2018 Pick of the Fringe Award and has wowed audiences and critics alike. The show takes place tomorrow and again on May 17 at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees are on May 12 and 19 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15.

The rest of the month  will be quite entertaining as well at The Main with the following shows;

“Note by Note” is a free musical night that delights audiences with a variety of genres. Bands, duos, and soloists will perform a wide range of styles, including rock, folk, Celtic, Americana, blues, jazz, country, experimental, western, and more. “The Sidecar Music Series” is going strong this month, featuring students and bands from the  School of Rock Santa Clarita. These local, aspiring musicians have been working all session long to put the finishing touches on an awesome performance, including the music of Black Sabbath and selections from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack. The concert is Friday, May 24 at 8 p.m. and tickets are $12 for general admission, and $10 for students and seniors.

“Soundcheck” is SCVTV’s newest music series that provides a platform for young musicians from the Santa Clarita Valley to show off their musical prowess through the performance of original songs. Performing at the next concert are Sleepy Valley, who plays alternative punk and rock, as well as singer-songwriter Sabina Arias. The show is Saturday, May 25 at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students with I.D.

The last event of the month will end with Harry Potter and the Quizner of Azkaban: Trivia Night on Thursday, May 30 at 7 p.m. If you think you have what it takes, grab your fellow Harry Potter friends and head over to The Main for a night of libations and examination.
