The Australian parody show, “Björn Again,” will perform the greatest hits of ABBA at the Palmdale Amphitheater on Saturday, Aug. 10 as part of the city of Palmdale’s summer concert series.

Created in Melbourne, in 1988, by Rod Stephen and John Tyrrell, the “Björn Again” show rapidly achieved worldwide cult status. The name consists of ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus and a quip on the phrase “born again.”

Designed as a rocked-up, light-hearted parody of ABBA, the show is known for its global success and has brought over 5,000 performances in 72 countries, in 30 years.

They have been hailed as the most popular and successful act of its type in the world, and have been endorsed by ABBA’s Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, and Björn Ulvaeus, as well as Kylie Minogue and J.K. Rowling.

“It was a great show. I loved the choreography…it was very true to life,”  Fältskog said.

“Björn Again has been going for twice as long as ABBA did,” Andersson said. “ABBA will never reform.”

They will peform the greatest hits of ABBA, including “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “SOS,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Fernando,” “Take a Chance on Me,” and “Mamma Mia.”
