A woman was found shot to death in Lancaster, authorities said this week.

Deputies responded about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 16200 block of Newmont Avenue and located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department.

A motive for the shooting or a detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
