Sometimes the wheels of justice turn slowly, but on social media, they tend to turn nonetheless far and wide. Such is the case of an incident in Broward County, Florida, where a cop is seen and heard on his bodycam abusing a Black man, and he calls him “boy,” reports the CBS affiliate there. As is often the case these days, the incident was recorded also by someone on a camera phone, and social media was soon spreading it like wildfire. In fact, LeBron James saw it and was one of the first to condemn it. Meanwhile, the Broward County Sheriff Department finally gets wind of the video and launches an investigation into the incident. It turns out that the officer – James Cady – has had complaints filed against him before, including 2010 when he was suspended temporarily. Cady remains on patrol during the investigation, according to a spokesperson at the Broward County Sheriffs Office.
