The city of Palmdale, in partnership with Waste Management of Antelope Valley, will host from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow a free document destruction/shredding service at the Palmdale landfill, 1200 W. City Ranch Road
Palmdale residents may bring up to five standard size boxes of documents for Proof of residency and account in good standing is required. Dates are subject to change.
Metal clips, binders and plastic sheet covers must be removed from documents prior to shredding. Staples, file folders and envelopes are OK. No commercial waste will be accepted.
This free event is held on the second Saturday of each month.
Also tomorrow, residents can turn in their used oil filters and receive a new one from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AutoZone, 5022 West Ave (R. Lee Ermey Ave.). Filters must not exceed $15 and are limited to two filters per household. The new filters are the AutoZone brand and are subject to the stock on hand. Filter vouchers must be redeemed during the event.
