Authorities this week identified a woman who was shot and killed in Lancaster by an assailant who remains at large.

The shooting was reported about 2:20 a.m. Monday in the 44000 block of Cedar Avenue, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Chloe Marie Corona, 28, of Lancaster died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported.

Deputies got a call about a possible gunshot victim at the location. The caller hung up without providing any more details. When deputies arrived, they found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

“There is no suspect description and the murder weapon has not been recovered,” according to a sheriff’s department statement.

The killing does not appear to be gang-related, officials said.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS or at lacrimestoppers.org.
