City will host discussion of Black migration history

The city of Los Angeles will host on Feb. 13 a round table discussion in recognition of Black History Month, scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Public Works Chambers at Los Angeles City Hall, 200 N. Spring St.

The discussion, “Black Migration: Human Rights and Transformative Resistance,” will be moderated by Marc Brown, co-anchor with ABC7 Eyewitness News. Among those scheduled to participate are Dr. Shaun Harper, director of the Race and Equity Center at USC; Dr. Marcus Hunter, chair of of African American Studies at UCLA; Dr. Maulana Karenga, chair of Africana Studies at Cal State Long Beach; Dr. Donna Nicol, chair of Africa Studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Dr. Theresa White, chair of Pan African Studies at Cal State Northridge.

A reception at the City Hall Rotunda will take place following the discussion.
