Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald were named this week recipients of Sportsmen of the Year honors by the Los Angeles Sports Council.

Rivers led the Chargers to a 12-4 record this season, leading the team to the playoffs and earning his eighth Pro Bowl invitation.

Donald, meanwhile, led the Rams’ formidable defensive line, helping earn the team a trip to the Super Bowl. He compiled a team record 20.5 sacks and was the only player in the league to be unanimously selected first-team All-Pro.

The LA Sports Awards ceremony will be held March 25 at the Beverly Hilton.
