‘Divas Simply Singing’ set Dec. 9 in Hollywood

“One Diva! One Song! One Night to touch a million lives.” That’s the theme this year for Sheryl Lee Ralph’s 28th Annual HIV/AIDS benefit concert “Divas Simply Singing,” in cooperation with the Diva Foundation, scheduled Sunday, Dec. 9, at the  Taglyan Cultural Complex, 1201 Vine St., in Hollywood

The 28th DIVAS Simply Singing! all-star lineup will include the incomparable Jenifer Lewis (“Blackish”), J’nai Bridges (“The Met”), Our Lady J (POSE), media Queen, Ada Vox (“American Idol” finalist), Rene Lawless (“The Haves and the Have Nots”) and Terrell Carter (“Empire”) who will perform as the resident “Divo” for the evening.   A host of other celebrities and surprise guests will be joining this year.  All of the concert’s participants’ lives have been touched or affected by HIV/AIDS and are uniting in song to raise awareness.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for cocktails, dinner and awards at 6:30 p.m. with the concert following at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $75 – $250.  For ticket information, visit 28thdivas.eventbrite.com www.thedivafoundation.org.

Created and produced by Ralph, DIVAS Simply Singing! is an annual benefit concert, produced in conjunction with The DIVA Foundation to help raise money and awareness about HIV/AIDS. “ Divas Simply Singing!”  is the longest consecutive running musical AIDS benefit concert in the country, raising awareness and erasing stigma, one song at a time, to help and assist AIDS organizations in Los Angeles and around the world. This evening of song and entertainment spotlights the talents of D.I.V.A. (acronym for Divinely Inspired, Victoriously Aware) individuals from all walks of show business.
