New York Times bestselling author Kwame Alexander will be at Skylight Books, 1818 N. Vermont Ave., at 7:30 p.m. tonight to discuss his new book “Swing,” the story of a bi-racial friendship between two teenage boys. Also on hand will be celebrated poet Nikki Giovanni and television producer Wendy Calhoun who each are expected to speak about the impact of Alexander’s book and how young adults can discover self-acceptance and demonstrate a willingness to open up to one another across racial boundaries.
